45 mins for guaranteed crispy pork belly! A handful of ingredients and you have yourself some Christmas Day worthy pork.
Prep: 35 mins | Cook time: 45 mins | Serves: 4
What you will need:
- An air fryer
- Pork belly
- Salt
- EVOO
- Garlic powder
- Dried bay leaves
- Alfoil
- Brown sugar
Method
- Use a knife and stab the skin of the pork belly all over
- Cover the skin of the pork in salt (basically drown it in salt so it is completely covered - trust me here)
- Cover with glad wrap and set aside for 30 mins
- After 30mins, scrape the residual salt off the meat and place the meat on a plate, skin side down
- Use a knife and score the meat in noughts and crosses
- Drizzle with EVOO and rub it in using your hands
- Sprinkle some garlic powder and pepper over the meat and rub that through
- Cut a square of alfoil and lay a handful of bay leaves over it
- Transfer the meat, skin side up, on top of the bay leaves and place it into the air fryer for 35mins on 200 °C
- Using some tongs, lift the pork up, scatter some brown sugar underneath it and place it back into the air fryer for 10 more mins on 200 °C
- Get some pork on your fork and enjoy!
