There is nothing my kids love more than a sausage, but trust me, this one is for the entire family!
Prep: 10 mins | Cook time: 20 mins | Serves: 4
What you will need:
- 4 Sausages, butterflied
- A handful of mushrooms, chopped finely
- 1/2 Red capsicum, chopped finely
- 1/2 Green capsicum, chopped finely
- 1/2 Red onion, chopped finely
- 1 Garlic clove, crushed
- 2 Tbsp EVOO
- Brioche hot dog buns
- Grated cheese
- Tomato sauce - or any sauce of your choice
Method
- In a pan, heat up 1 Tbsp EVOO and lay the sausage butterfly side down first and then flip over to butterfly side up
- In the meantime, in a separate pan, heat up 1 Tbsp EVOO and sauté the garlic and onion for appox 2-3 minutes and then add the capsicums and onions and cook until softened
- Transfer mixture in to the butterflied sausages in the other pan and top with the grated cheese and pop the lid on until cheese melts
- Remove from the heat and transfer the sausages into the brioche buns
- Top your sausages with ketchup
- Serve and enjoy!
