Saved it for a rainy day

So….I’m not sure what happened to summer here in Sydney – this rain just won’t stop! While the weather is all doom and gloom outside, I have taken a rare chance/moment in time to hop back into bed this afternoon, snuggle in with my laptop and dream about the year ahead. I love that about a new year. It give us the chance to wipe the slate clean, get re-inspired and dream up new ideas, challenges, resolutions and plan exciting new adventures.

I had the privilege of having the super talented Gemma Peanut (aka Gemma Pranita) take my photo for her blog. We first became friends when we both lived in LA and our lives have brought us back together on Aussie soil. We were forced to relocate the shoot indoors because of the torrential rail in Sydney on our shoot day! The styling concept is a clash of worlds with beautiful couture gowns teamed with akubra hats and glam jewels.

Last year Guy and I started The Sebastian Foundation and our mission is to help families in need. This year, our annual Carols in the City event announced that MYER has come on board as our sponsor, which we couldn’t be happier about! As a stylist one of the best parts of my job is getting to spend hours (okay sometimes too many hours) pouring over the latest red carpet looks. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine and while it’s so easy for people to judge people based on their outfits, I know what really happens behind-the-scenes – sometimes it’s weeks, months of planning and pulling samples, consulting with designers and looking at trends before finally… the winning outfit is chosen. It can be a really exhaustive process!
