In-betweeners – what to wear when you're between seasons

The merge of seasons can be tricky when it comes to dressing, especially going from Summer to Autumn. One day it’s a heatwave, the next you’re walking in the rain. Here are some options to try for those days where anything can happen.

No sleeve woollen vest.  The no sleeve allows layering for cooler days, and the wool fabric counts for some extra warmth. Being a no sleeve, you can get away with wearing a piece like this on a warm day.

Culottes. Always a favourite of mine. They are chic, fashionable and can be worn in any kind of weather. Try wearing knee high boots underneath for an alternative look. As an extra bonus they keep your legs warm if it’s a cooler day. Culottes can be worn with heels or flats and can be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with a long coat. The world’s your oyster with this trend.

Turtle neck. It’s not just for the Wiggles! Turtlenecks are available in short sleeve, long sleeve and bodysuit styles. They are a perfect layering tool in these in between seasons. There is something about covering up your neck that keeps the rest of you warm!

Socks with shoes. It’s not for everyone, but it sure is cute. There are so many fun socks available through winter and, worn right, they can really add an interesting element to an outfit. They are a great alternative to stockings or opaques when you want to keep those ankles warm. I would opt for the ankle socks so you can scrunch and fold to where you want them to sit on your leg.
