Disney's Cinderella Kindness Dress up for Auction!
This is a very exciting announcement! As you all know, I love being a part of initiatives that help people and make the world a better place. You can only imagine my happiness when Disney, to celebrate the release of Cinderella on Blu-Ray and Digital (out today), wanted to put the Cinderella Kindness dress that I wore to the premiere of the movie in March up for auction with all proceeds going towards their charity partner Big Brothers and Sisters Australia.
For those of you who didn’t see the dress, you can check out my blog post about it here. Inspired by the beautiful message of the film, “have courage and be kind” both Disney and I put a call out to social media for people to send through their kindness messages, the response was overwhelming. A beautiful gown was designed by One Day Bridal and the messages were hand stitched into the fabric and layers of the dress – it is truly stunning. I loved wearing it and I can’t wait to see who the lucky new owner will be of this one-of-a-kind dress valued at… $13,500!
All money raised will be The Walt Disney Company Australia’s trusted charity partner, Big Brothers and Sisters Australia. They are a charity that helps young people who face serious adversity, develop supportive, meaningful, monitored mentoring relationships with adult volunteers. These relationships change the course of a young person’s life and help’s build resilience and a sense of self-worth keeping them in school, improving relationships with their families and gives them greater employment opportunities. Their goal and dream is to connect disadvantaged children with a positive role model to break the cycle of disadvantage. It’s a wonderful cause and one I am proud to support.
The auction begins on TODAY (12pm) and ends July 4th (12pm AEST).
