The different hats we wear

I’ve always loved suits. Blazers are kinda my thing. I love how they bring structure and shape to a whole outfit and it’s a simple way to dress up a more casual look. Put it together with a pair of suit pants, and it’s instant classic goodness.
Here’s why I love them so.
I’ve never been one for an over the knee boot. I don’t know if it’s my fear people thinking I’ve walked straight from a scene of ‘Pretty Woman’, or my conservative Christian upbringing, but I’ve never been brave enough to try it…..till now. Once I summoned up the courage to parade myself down the street, Julia Roberts style, there was no stopping me. Now I can’t take them off! They actually go with everything and can be dressed up, or worn in a more casual way. I’m a convert. Can I get an Amen?
Here are three ways to wear the over the knee boot trend that will be everywhere this winter. If you aren’t seen in a pair this season it will be a ‘big mistake, big, HUGE’ (see what I did there?)
Everyday wear. It can be a tricky thing to conquer with all the activities we do in a day. Heels and pencil skirts can be impractical and flat shoes and ripped jeans are inappropriate for some occasions. I am lucky enough to own my own business, so I can set the dress code, but I still have to be comfortable enough to be with my kids, and look good enough to take a meeting. It’s a fine line but I have put together some tips to filling up your wardrobe with basics to nail it every time.
The merge of seasons can be tricky when it comes to dressing, especially going from Summer to Autumn. One day it’s a heatwave, the next you’re walking in the rain. Here are some options to try for those days where anything can happen.
I’ve always been a tomboy. Ever since I was a kid, I thought it was completely acceptable to borrow my brothers clothes. I was always the girl on the BMX, climbing up a tree and playing all kinds of sports. I was one of the boys until my discovery of the eyelash curler and the realisation that there was a way to mix the sporty with the girlie.
Here’s a little shoot I did last year with my good pal Zac Poor. I never got around to posting this outfit at the time, but that got me thinking. A white shirt and a black pant-suit is forever.
A textured bag can cheer up even the simplest of outfits. Think of it as the cherry on top of an already well put together attire.
