Sebastian
Foundation

Guy and Jules Sebastian began The Sebastian Foundation with a view simply to help families doing it tough. Now as the parents of two young boys, the objectives of The Sebastian Foundation are to change lives for the better by giving families and young Australians the resilience and confidence they need to grow and be their best.

The Foundation collaborates with like-minded partners and charities on a project by project basis. Begun in 2013, Guy and Jules began helping out where they could see families were going through a tough time, rebuilding a playground in a bushfire affected community, donating sleeper beds to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead so families can stay together through treatment, and creating playroom / office environments, gardens and kitchens in several shelters where women and children were seeking respite from domestic violence. The Foundation has been involved with several mentoring programs for young girls and employment mentoring for women within the shelter environment.

In recent years, through personal experiences with the Sebastian’s close family and friends with suicide, the work that the Foundation has done, and an observation of what is going on in the world around us it is clear that there is an extremely important job to be done in society today in protecting all young people from the world we have created for them.

And consequently in 2020 the Foundation announced a change to focus on doing whatever we can to address the issues facing young Australians and their mental health today and are proud to partner with Open Parachute, an in-school mental health program designed to help teenagers address and normalise everyday mental health issues before they become problematic, among other programs that offer Aussie kids the best chance to grow up to be their best.
